Treatments

Chiropractic

Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) – often referred to as chiropractors or chiropractic physicians – practice a hands-on, drug-free approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.

DCs may assess patients through clinical examination, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging and other diagnostic interventions to determine when chiropractic treatment is appropriate or when it is not appropriate. Chiropractors will readily refer patients to the appropriate health care provider when the condition warrants co-management in conjunction with other health care providers.

In many cases, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care may be a patient's primary method of treatment. When other medical conditions exist, chiropractic services may complement or support medical treatment by relieving aspects associated with the condition.

Intravenous Nutritional Therapy

Intravenous nutritional therapy provides many health benefits by delivering nutrients directly into your bloodstream, and to every cell of your body. Nutritional supplements taken by mouth are, of course, of great benefit. Yet even the healthiest person only absorbs a fraction of the nutrients in capsules or tablets. When a person has been chronically ill, or is middle-aged or older, digestion is much less efficient, and malnutrition results. Intravenous or intramuscular administration of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients gives you optimal benefit.

Intravenous nutrition is used for effectively treating various health conditions, as well as promoting good overall health. Countless research studies have shown that intravenous administration of high dosage nutrients is highly successful in helping the body recover from a wide range of health problems and symptoms. Intravenous nutritional therapy  has a very impressive record in helping with cardiovascular problems, asthma, liver dysfunctions, neurological problems, weakened immunity, and many others. Studies have also shown that high-dose vitamin infusions are effective in helping the body fight cancer.

Common benefits include improved energy and stamina, and sharper mental clarity. Nutritional infusions are very effective at removing accumulated toxins from the body. Other benefits of intravenous antioxidants include increased collagen production in the skin – which results in firmer, more youthful-appearing skin.

Chelation

‘Chelation’ means "to grab" or "to bind", is one reason for IV nutritional therapy. Chelation is focused on removing toxin (heavy metals)  from the body as well as improving circulation. Various nutrients, including vitamin C, glutathione [a natural amino acid], and EDTA [a man-made amino acid], are all strongly effective at removing toxins, such as heavy metals.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular therapy is a very gentle reflex method of relaxing muscle spasms and reducing abnormal tension of the nervous system. When a person has stress, it results in spasm in the muscles, change in nerve function, changes in circulation and blood pressure, and changes in digestion. These are ways in which the body normally responds to stress. But once a stress has passed, the body is supposed to allow all those functions to return to normal.

If stress s prolonged or constant, or when a stress is particularly severe, the body develops a habit pattern. Instead of relaxing, the nerves transmit hyperactive signals, muscles stay tight, and blood pressure, hormone function, or digestion may get stuck in “emergency mode”. When that happens, sickness and symptoms are the eventual result.

Neuromuscular therapy helps reduce the tension in the spine and nerves, and relaxes the muscle spasms to reduce stress and allow the release of toxins.

Bio-Identical Hormones

As we age, hormone levels begin to decline. This is accelerated by stress, poor diet, and environmental toxins. Hormone imbalances can begin at any age.

Common effects of low hormone production or hormone imbalances include difficult weight loss, insomnia, fatigue, poor concentration, memory loss, attention deficit, low libido, difficulty with erections, immune problems, joint swelling, increased cardiovascular risk, PMS, menstrual problems, difficult pregnancy, loss of strength, and accelerated aging.

The doctors at Health+Plus recommend bio-identical topical hormones to help replenish deficiencies and restore balance. We’ll also recommend dietary and lifestyle improvements to help you feel your best.

Cupping

Low-Vacuum Cupping Massage improves circulation and lymphatic drainage. This modern therapy device provides effective and comfortable treatment to reduce abnormal congestion of breast tissue.

A series of cupping treatments also helps firm and tone the tissues that sag with aging, and can help enlarge underdeveloped breasts. The treatment also encourages the pituitary gland to release hormones that induce relaxation and well-being. When used on the face, cupping massage comfortably helps improve facial skin tone.

Whole Body Vibration

Whole body vibration helps increase circulation and lymphatic drainage, tones muscles, improves balance and coordination, stimulates the release of hormones that decline as we age, and enhances metabolism by burning calories.

A series of Whole Body Vibration treatments has also been shown to increase bone density, improve joint mobility, help with bladder control problems, and improve body shape.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy reduces muscle tension, helps relieve stress, improves circulation and lymphatic drainage, relieves pain, improves mobility, reduces feelings of depression and anxiety, and feels great. Because massage increases production of collagen and elastin, skin tone and appearance improve.

Ion Cleanse

Ion Cleanse is a relaxing foot bath that draws out everyday toxins that accumulate in our bodies. You’ll be astonished at the results!

Intravenous Laser Light Therapy

Intravenous Laser Light Therapy (ILLT), which uses the healing properties of low intensity laser radiation, thanks to its unique effectiveness, lack of side effects and specific contraindications, as well as the simplicity and low cost has become used more frequently around the world for almost 30 years.

ILLT has been used successfully in medicine for many decades and ultraviolet radiation (UVR) of blood has been used since the 1920's. In the early 1960's, with the advent of lasers, more and more studies and medical benefits of both lasers and UVR began to emerge. By the 1980's ILLT was being utilized with tremendous amounts of success and research.

One of the most significant aspects of ILLT is it's influence on the transport of Oxygen. Many specialists have measured an amplification of the Oxygen - transport function of the blood due to the affinity of hemoglobin of Oxygen.

Another benefit of ILLT is the changing of viscosity of the blood. The ILLT will decrease the viscosity/aggregation of Red Blood Cells so that they are not "sticking" to each other, thus allowing for better circulation throughout the body.

The ILLT also has an Anti-inflammatory affect on the body due to decreasing certain blood proteins that can lead to inflammation due to over production of the proteins.

ILLT, in our office, is primarily used to help decrease inflammation. There are numerous published articles from around the world that suggest that ILLT can be very effective with inflammation and inflammatory diseases.

Ultraviolet blood irradiation (simple called UBI) is the treatment that time has indeed forgotten.  UBI was extensively used in the 1940’s and 1950’s to treat medical conditions including pneumonia, tuberculosis and even cancer.  The advent of antibiotics lead to a decline in the use of UBI as an effective treatment option.  Now, with the increasing incidence of antibiotic resistant infections and a desire for more natural therapies, UBI is enjoying a type of rebirth.

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI) is a procedure that exposes the blood to light to heighten the body’s immune response and to kill infections. With exposure to UV light, bacteria and viruses in your bloodstream absorb five times as much photonic energy as do your red and white blood cells.

Hyperbaric Chamber

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) refers to breathing in conditions of 100% pure oxygen under high pressure. This process encourages oxygen to be quickly absorbed and dissolved into the bloodstream at an expedited rate. Infection can slow healing because the blood supply to the affected site is damaged. HBOT increases the oxygen supply to these damaged tissues.

This form of hyperbaric therapy which utilizes 100% of oxygen requires a prescription under FDA guidelines due to its classification as a drug. Mild hyperbaric therapy or mHBOT has also shown significant health benefits and administers 95% oxygen in a small range of 1.3 to 1.4 atmospheric pressure. Requiring no doctor’s prescription, providing incredible health benefits and a process that has minimal to zero risks, mHBOT is a much more affordable treatment option.
