If you have labs from previous doctors please have them sent to our office at least 24 hours prior to your first visit. If we do not have the labs prior to your first visit you will need to reschedule your appointment
The first day in the clinic begins with the check-in process, which includes completing paperwork. It does not matter why you are coming to Health+Plus, whether it is for chiropractic, Vit C infusion or chelation therapy, everyone has to fill out the paperwork. You may complete this paperwork before your visit by printing it off from the "New Patient Paperwork" tab on the top of the page.
Patient intake includes leaving a urine specimen, having vital signs checked, initial cardiovascular assessment, lung function testing, and taking a blood sample for testing.
Consultation with the doctor is the time when he reviews your health history and talks with you. Because people come fasting in preparation for the blood testing, you will have a break to eat breakfast before your physical examination.
One of our nurses and the doctor will do your physical examination. At the end of the examination, the doctor will visit with you, explain the preliminary findings, and make an initial recommendation for treatment, and whether alternative natural therapies are likely to help.
Your first appointment will take at least 90 minutes. Depending on your particular situation and whether treatment is initiated on the first day, you may be in the clinic for up to 6 hours.
The Second Day
When you return for your second visit you will receive a written copy of your examination findings, as well as a written evaluation of your laboratory tests. We have a special arrangement with the medical laboratory so that we have your blood test scores the following day. You will have another consultation with the doctor to review your findings and recommendations. Plan to allow 30 minutes for your report.
Often, the doctor will make time to have a short class for a group of patients that helps them understand their exam and lab findings. Your treatment plan will be fully implemented on day two.
Long Distance Patients
Your treatment plan will depend not only on your health concerns, but also on how far you must travel to come to the clinic. A great number of our patients travel from other states or nations.
Local patients, of course, can easily commute and don’t need to stay overnight.
Patients who live 100 miles or more from the office typically come and stay at least two days.
Folks within a few hours’ drive commonly come for 2 or 3 days in a row, then come back in 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the recommendations of the doctor.
Patients living a few states away from Oak Grove often stay one or two weeks at a time for daily treatments.
Depending on your treatment plan, you will be in the clinic a minimum of 90 minutes each day.
